Hudson pooped in my car this morning on the way to the vet to get fixed. So that was a fiasco.
Unloading groceries and hear a crash. Cats knocked my thingy off the end table and broke it. So that was a fiasco.
Keith read that peppermint essential oil will get rid of our gnat problem. So now it smells like Christmas up in here. Gnat fiasco.
You might remember that I’ve recently had a light bulb moment about how it is not my responsibility to make other people happy. Let’s take that a step further…I’m also not responsible if people are unhappy. Don’t get me wrong, if I’m ugly to someone in any way, I’m responsible for hurting their feelings or making them mad. I don’t mean that. I mean that if I’m doing everything I’m supposed to do and being my usual fabulous self, and someone gets upset about something, that’s not on my shoulders. I’ll write about that later.
Took Brady out to the horse barn for her lesson this morning, and there were no lessons this week. I missed that somehow. It’s all good. Didn’t hurt us to get up early (Lawd, I didn’t have very much of a sense of humor at 6:30 am this morning.), and it’s helping me realize what I need as a mom to help me keep up with stuff and how to do that better for my dance families.
I tell you what…if you give me a minute, I can Snap Chat filter my little self to super model level, but when I’m live on Facebook, I look like Shrek.
I listen to people carefully. I read those Facebook posts. Here’s a truth…if you want to make something happen, you can’t keep searching for and choosing comfort. Change and accomplishment come with work, sacrifice, emotional investment, and the fear/anxiety/apprehension that comes with navigating uncharted territory. You want to feel good? Then stay where it is comfortable for you. You want a change? You’re going to get dirty.
I’ve learned that we tend to make excuses, too. When we have hangups, failures, and issues, fail to deal with them and instead make excuses. They become our crutch, and that lets us off the hook. An honest self assessment can help you figure out your crap. Just listen to your tape playing in your mind. We come up with excuses for everything. Deal with the hangups, failures, and issues, and you can stop making excuses.
A few things in my world feel like they’re unraveling, and it’s odd. I’m going to choose right now to believe it is because the universe is making room for new, good, perhaps better, things. Later, when I’m being dramatic about it, remind me of this after about 5 minutes. During that first 5 minutes, I’m going to need to be dramatic.
Y’all, I could swear when I dropped Hudson at the vet today, there was another dog coming in named “Bacardi”. Ok!
Did I tell you that my goal this week was to eat at home every night? Well, we’re about to eat this roast I cooked all day, complete with potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, and mushrooms. The house smells comfortable, you know what I mean? So good!
That’s all. We learn everyday, don’t we?
